Swimming

Eastern Province Representatives: Guppy Fish, Dillon Dorothy and Jason Jones.

This year Miss A Botha was our coach. She is very enthusiastic about swimming and arranged for some of the stronger swimmers to help others learn to swim.

The Redhouse River Mile was relocated to Sundays River this year as we are currently in a severe drought and the pollution levels at Redhouse were too high. We still participated and had an enjoyable swim.

We swam for the first time in the renovated Newton Park Pool, quite different from the days of sitting in the sun waiting for our races. We also participated in Galas at Gelvandale and Uitenhage.

Guppy Fish is our top girl swimmer and she achieved the following medals this year

Eastern province Championships: -3 gold and 3 bronze

Karoly Gala: - 5 gold, 2 silver

Level 3 Nationals (open) –silver in 800m freestyle

South Western districts - I gold, 2 silver

Jason and Wayne Jones swam in the Ocean Series> Jason had an amazing 3km swim (means open) and won the race. Well Done.

We look forward to a great season next year.
