SPORTS DINNER 2010

It was like walking in a spring garden.  The different shades of green used in the decoration of the hall,  were cleverly put together by Mrs Hodgson to create a spring festival.  She sure has talent in this field!!  I would like to  use this opportunity to thank her for making our sports dinners such memorable events.

  She will be leaving at the end of the year – I hope that she enjoys her retirement and will visit us from time to time.

 We were priviledged to enjoy the company of Mr Leigh Julius,  an athlete of note.  He inspired all present with advice on becoming a successful athlete.  Discipline,  hard work and sacrifices were a few of the factors he mentioned.  Indeed wise words imparted by this impressive young man.

 Mr Vermaak had the difficult task to award 3 trophies.  The deserving winners were:

Team of the Year:  Boys Hockey

Passion and Spirit:  Rugby

Most Improved team:  Boys cricket

 An evening such as this,  is made possible by the hard work of many.   Special mention must be made of Mr Milne and his team,  Mrs van Niekerk,  Mrs Minnie,  Mrs Hodgson and the waiters of the evening!!
