Sound and Lighting Crew is a small group of learners that are trained to work with advanced sound and lighting equipment to aid and serve the school with everything from normal assemblies to full productions, to other events such as Mr. and Miss. V.P. Sound Crew requires and teaches commitment, teamwork and trust. We also form close bonds with the fellow members with whom we work many, many hours throughout the year with.

2010 has been a year of change for Sound and Lighting Crew. We have taken in new trainees, along with new grade 11 members (Reece Adams, Taufeeq Agherdien and Zaida Andrews) whose training has been “fast-tracked” for 2011 leadership purposes. We wish them the best for 2011! We welcome Mr. Jansen van Rensburg to head up Sound Crew, and also thank Mr. Louis and Mr. De Wet for their unfailing support to the crew.

One of our more memorable experiences of many this year was when 3 of our members accidentally combusted the Sports Extravaganza’s ramp carpet. Needless to say that the carpet was repaired and ready for the opening night.

We would like to thank V.P. for giving us the opportunity to learn and introduce us to this potential profession of which we can actually enter the working environment with the experiences we have gained.
