A new addition to VP’s ever growing selection of cultural activities was started this year by Ms Brown and Mr Ross. Impulse is a training ground for Grade Eight and Nine learners who are only able to enrol for Drama as a subject in Grade Ten. Specialising in Improvisational Theatre (Drama without a script) Impulse has proved to be very popular amongst Victorians. 2010 saw performances at the VP Arts Festival in the style of Whose Line is it Anyway as well as the Impulse group acting as paparazzi at the Matric Dance.
The other half of Impulse is a poetry club whose members show a consistent and high standard of creative thought and inspiring poems and short stories. The poetry group also performed at the VP Arts Festival as well as a few readings in assembly. New applicants arrive every week and the group is slowly enlarging it’s focus to include short fiction and scripts.
