ECO (Environmental Caring Organisation) is an environmental awareness organisation which, inter alia, creates recycling opportunities for the school, making VP a greener school.

Like anything beautiful and precious, our earth needs protection and healing. Victoria Parks’ newly founded society, ECO, has made it their duty to do just that.

ECO was founded in August 2010 by Mr Lehman and his eco-activists with support from Mr Vermaak and other teachers who strongly feel the school is in need of environmental awareness.

There is no project too small, or too big that the enthusiastic environmentalists of the society are not willing to take on.

Their first project has been to create a recycling opportunity for the school which would allow the recycling of paper and tins. This project has received major outside support from the Waste Trade Company and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality. The environmentalists are so dedicated they agreed to sort the recycling rubbish themselves.

So far the whole school has been very supportive especially when we joined forces with the DA and cleaned up our beaches, a cause close to our heart as we have beautiful beaches in Port Elizabeth.

Apart from the above, ECO aims to create environmental awareness and inspire the community to follow their adopted motto in order to leave a wonderful legacy for the environmentalists to come.

Our motto is: From our mother earth whom we love, we take only pictures, leave only memories and kill only time.
