SENIOR AND JUNIOR ORATORY COMPETITIONS

In July the Oratory competition was held in the Blake Hall. The standard seemed to be higher that the previous year and it seems that with each year more pupils participate.

The juniors had a brilliant start with Rachel Bolton and Vuyelwa Mhlaba giving of their best and making it hard for the seniors to up their game. Some speeches were persuasive and informing while others were very amusing.

This year the pupils amazed the judges and the audience with their eloquence. The participants spoke clearly and presented themselves in true Victorian style. The judges (Miss Owalsky, Miss Meyer and Miss Gordon) had a tough decision to make and they announced the following results:
JUNIOR ORATORY
1. Adriaan Widervanck
2. Kaylin Higgs
3. Rachel Bolton

SENIOR ORATORY
1. Nosipho Voyi
Thandiwe Msizi
2. Seif Said

Being given a platform where you can express yourself and air your views, is a great opportunity and I would urge everyone to participate next year and even if you don’t win it’s about expressing yourself and entertaining others.
