Copacabana 2008

Well the drama kids have been at it again and the outcome is some definite bragging rights. Copacabana was a great hit and is not soon to be forgotten. Thank you to those who came and supported; we had great audiences which made all our hard work worthwhile.
Speaking of hard work, I don’t think non-theatre folk realize how much of it we put in. The cast gave up all of their December holidays for rehearsals-5 hours every day! Mr Louis had a week’s holiday over Christmas and devoted the rest of his holiday to the show. You may think this sounds terrible, but the memories we now share are worth far more than a couple of hours on the beach which we missed.
Having such a small cast almost forced us to become closer. We were like a family. Of course we had our ups and downs, but doesn’t every family? But behind all the tears (believe me there were plenty) caused by fights, problems and downright exhaustion, it is an experience none of us regrets. These memories will last our whole lives.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved in the show. I love and miss you all. Whether on stage, backstage, up in the sound box or in the girls’ bathroom, each person played a significant role in making this an absolutely amazing unforgettable experience. And even though I fell on stage, nobody can take that away from me. I will treasure these times forever and miss our crazy rehearsals more than words can tell. I couldn’t have asked for better people to share it with.
Love you crazy people!
